Wispy, tousled hairstyles are one of this season's most popular trends and, thankfully, one that doesn't require a whole lot of effort to get on board with. A great way to rock an artfully mussed look is with a low knot. It's a simple undo that takes hardly anytime at all and can be adapted to create all kinds of different looks, from a sleek ballerina-esque 'do to a disheveled style like the one in the photo.
To find out how to recreate it, all you have to do is follow the tutorial below.
Brush your hair through to remove any tangles, sweeping it back off your face.
Gather it all into a low pony and tie at the nape of your neck. If you have bangs, leave them loose at the front to frame your face. If not, shake a few pieces of hair out of the pony before you tie it.
Wind the pony into a bun a tease some pieces loose to get a messier finish. To make things a lot easier, use a wide-tooth comb to dishevel your style.
Loosen the hair on top by placing your fingertips underneath the hair near your scalp. Gently pull your hands upward until the hair feels a little slacker. Be careful not to pull too far as this could undo the entire hairstyle and you might have to start over.
Once you're satisfied with how undone your knot looks, spray your hair all over with L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray and you're all set!
The great thing about this style is that you can dress it up for a formal occasion or team it with low-key makeup and casual attire for a laid back, off-duty look.
How will you wear it?
