Deciding how to wear your hair for a day at work or a job interview can be kind of tricky, especially if you're expected to look super formal. There are only so many less-than-exciting blow-dries a person can take! If you want to give your workday hairstyle an update, this sleek low pony, complete with a little extra height on top and a smooth, polished finish could be just what you need.
It's sophisticated yet has a certain amount of volume and movement, two things which give it a little extra personality. Much as any work environment requires you to conform to certain rules, it's important to make sure you both look and feel like yourself, too.
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse
Blow-dryer & round brush
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: Begin by applying Volume Inject Mousse to damp hair and then blow-dry using a round brush to guide the hair. Curl the ends around the brush, dry them and then pull the brush downwards until the hair pops off the top. Once the hair is dry, define a side part and comb it through.
Step two: Apply High Lift Creation Spray to the roots on the top and crown of your head. Tease the hair gently to build a little extra height, just as you would for a beehive.
Step three: Smooth the hair over gently and gather it into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck, securing with a hair elastic. Be careful not to crush the volume you just created! Take a section of hair from the pony, wrap it around the base to camouflage the elastic and pin it underneath.
Step four: Gently twist the length of the pony and let go. This should help to show off the curl at the ends. However, if the curl isn't very prominent, use a medium curling iron on the ends of the pony.
Step five: Mist the whole style with Bold Control Hairspray and you're done!
Looking perfectly chic for work never seemed so easy...
