How to blow-dry perfect waves without a brush

Loose waves
Loose waves

Loosely tousled waves can be the only hairstyle you really need. There's enough texture to keep things interesting, the movement makes any updo twice as pretty, and Blake Lively is a very persuasive ambassador for it! Not only that, it's also really easy to achieve, too.

To attain effortlessly fantabulous hair, all you actually have to do is learn the world's second easiest blow-dry technique (the first is definitely the rough-dry, FYI) – you don't even need a brush!

Step one

Before you switch on the dryer, spray Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray evenly throughout your hair.

Step two

Take a chunk of hair and twist it in whichever direction you would like your finished waves to go. Blow-dry the twist while holding onto the ends then give it a quick blast of cold air to set the wave once it's all dried. Leave the resulting twist alone and repeat this process on the rest of your hair. Be warned, there will be a moment where you look a bit like Medusa, but that just means you're doing it right.

Step three

Break up the twists with your fingers then take a really small amount of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum and apply it to the curled ends. Scrunch the hair as you go then use a little more to add some volume at the crown. This will stop the waves looking too intentional (read: fake).

Step four

Spray your whole style liberally with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray and you're all set! Who needs hairbrushes anyway?

[If you do though, we totally have a glossary to help you pick the right one... you know, in case you don't want to swear off traditional blowouts for all eternity.]
