Volumize your hair with a few easy styling tricks

Sometimes, trying to get full, voluminous hair seems like the hair equivalent of climbing Mount Everest. The good news is, however, that it can actually be made pretty simple when you know how. To get the volume and body you want, all you have to do is figure out the best styling techniques for your hair and to get your hands on the right products to make things even easier.

Below, you'll find a few different tips and tricks to help you get the look you've been hoping for!

Such a tease...

One really quick volumizing fix is to tease hair gently at the crown to add lift and stop fine hair appearing too flat. It's also a great way to give your hair a retro feel. Just make sure to use a bristle brush or fine-tooth comb and to really take your time. If strands are being yanked in different directions, they can get damaged really easily and you may even end up with a bunch of split ends, breakage and root damage.

Top tip – Apply Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Lift Creation Spray to the roots to help lift hair and minimize the amount of teasing you need to do.

Lift your locks

By changing your technique a little, the same old blow-dry you've been doing for ages can become a real volume booster. First off, you need to use heat styling products that promote volume such as Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out Heatspray. Apply it evenly throughout hair and then blow-dry with a barrel brush. A slight curl on the ends will help create some nice movement and create the illusion of more body.

Top tip – Part blow-dry with your head flipped upside down. This will add extra lift and give particularly fine hair an instant boost.

Channel your inner surfer girl

Adding texture is another way to help build volume. Tousled waves are one of the easiest – and prettiest – options and they only take as long as a regular blow-dry.

After towel-drying hair, apply Advanced Hairspray TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray evenly through hair the finger-comb to get the best coverage. After that, take a section of hair and twist it then blow-dry the twist. Repeat this process on the rest of your hair and then finger-comb again to separate hair into loose waves. Spray again and scrunch to finish.

Top tip - For maximum volume, blow-dry with Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse. Then, apply the Tousle Waves Spray to dry hair and blow-dry the twists on a low heat setting.

Make some waves

If a relaxed, tousled look isn't really your thing, try a more polished style full of bouncy curls. Big, retro waves are right on-trend at the moment and can be seen everywhere from the runway to the red carpet so you'll be in good company.

Use a medium-barrel curling iron and curl your hair, starting with the bottom layers and working your way up. Fix with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray for long-lasting hold.

Top tip – Apply Lift Creation Spray to the roots on top and massage with your fingers to get more lift. You can also tease the bottom layers a little for extra volume.
