Headbands are basically the best summer hair accessories ever and there are many different ways to incorporate them into your fave warm weather hairstyles. The question is, do you prefer headband hairstyles worn up or down?
The updo
Depending on the heat index, updos can be pretty much indispensable over the summer. If you have longer locks, you'll understand just how necessary it is to keep your hair up and off your neck, and out of your face, when both humidity levels and temperatures are soaring.
Styling tip
To keep your headband in place all day long, give it some extra traction with a couple of bobby pins hidden behind your ears. To make sure they have enough grip, spray them with a dry shampoo like Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Longwear Spray before putting them in your hair.
The down 'do
Sometimes, you just don't want to sacrifice the movement of your hair to an updo, even when it's really hot outside, which is where a headband down 'do comes in. Like a half-up hairstyle, it's a great compromise because the hair is still kept back off the face, but the lengths remain in full view.
Styling tip
Use a texturizing spray such as Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray to create a perfectly undone, summery look. Spritz it all over dry or damp hair, then blow-dry in twisted sections.
