Half-up hairstyles are kind of the best, the best of both worlds at least. They allow you to play with lots of different looks without having to actually figure out how to put all of your hair up and they leave plenty of loose locks to frame your face. Two of our favorite half-up hairstyles are braids and beehives. These classic 'dos are both super feminine and really versatile, making them great go-tos for when you're in a rush/don't know what else to do with your hair.

Romantic vs. Retro
Braids are undeniably romantic. Whether princess-y or more understated, a braided hairstyle always looks cute. They also work really well for wavy hair and don't require much preparation. Beehives, on the other hand, do require quite a lot of teasing to create and also look best with straight hair if you want an ultra-vintage style.
If you're short on time, a braided hairstyle might be your best option. However, creating a half-up beehive can be a surprisingly fast process. Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray helps to create volume and height when massaged at the roots and then teased with a fine-tooth comb. After that, all you really need to do is smooth the hair over and pin back into a beehive.
As far as the actual styling process goes, they're looking pretty equal!
The wearability factor
Although it all depends on how high you go with the beehive, a braided look might be more wearable on an everyday level. For a night out, a beehive is perhaps more glamorous, but a braid can look great with a relaxed part look, too!
Maybe the braids have the edge after all...
