Vintage beehive hairstyles have been on trend for more than half a century and they're still going strong. From the soft-focus teasing of the 1960s to the decidedly sharper pomps of the 80s, the beehive is a classic, especially in a half-up style! If you haven't already tried this hairstyle, maybe now is the right time. After all, it's a great party look and the weekend is just around the corner...
If you still aren't convinced, consider the following: a half-up beehive hides (read: celebrates!) unwashed roots, doesn't take long to actually do, and looks great on all kinds of hair lengths and types. How about now?
What you need:

Step one: Separate your hair into three sections – the top section that will become the beehive/pomp and a section on either side of your head which will be styled flat to accentuate the volume on top.
Step two: Clip the top section up while you work on the sides. Using a brush, smooth them back past your ears and secure with bobby pins.
Step three: Unclip the top section and spray the roots with High Lift Creation Spray. Use a fine-tooth comb to gently tease the hair on top of your head, working back almost to the crown. Make sure you leave some hair un-teased at your hairline to smooth over the rest once you're done teasing.
Step four: Gather the hair loosely at the crown and bump it forwards. This will help to fill out the pomp in the front. Secure with bobby pins.
Step five: Fix your new half-up beehive in place with a generous mist of Bold Control Hairspray and you're done!
