Braid bun with a chain

If you have some old jewelry lying around, specifically a chain of some kind, you should think twice before throwing it out because it could become your new favorite hair accessory! As a kind of up-cycling or repurposing effort, you can use your old, broken necklace to add a little sparkle to your hair by weaving it into a braided bun - or any braid for that matter!

How to style it

Step 1

Starting with clean, towel-dried hair, apply Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Frizz Vanisher Cream before combing your hair.

Step 2

When you're sure the cream has been evenly distributed, rough-dry your hair using only your hands and a blowdryer until your locks are only slightly damp.

Step 3

Complete your blowout using a paddle brush or large barrel brush to smooth and straighten your hair in sections.

Step 4

Once dried, mist your hair all over with Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Strand Smoother Serum Spray.

Step 5

Gather your mane into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck and attach the chain to the hair tie so it hangs down with the pony. If you can, hook it on or tie it to the hair elastic.

Step 6

Braid your hair all the way to the ends as your normally would, treating the chain as just another strand of hair. Wind the braid into a bun and secure with bobby pins.

Step 7

Complete the look with plenty of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray to keep flyaways at bay.
