While wet look hair isn't everyone's idea of a gorgeous going out hairstyle, we happen to think it looks pretty darn good. We would also like to point out that 'wet look' doesn't have to mean super slick. In fact, it can just be a subtle all-over sheen if you prefer. The low pony in the photo opposite has just that kind of wet look vibe and, as such, it's a little easier to wear than a slick chignon, for example.
So, if you're feeling adventurous and want to try the look on your own locks, all you need to do is follow the tutorial below!
Get the look
Step one: Start by brushing your hair through to remove any knots then roughly part it in the middle. You can go slightly off-center if you prefer.
Step two: Next, warm a small amount of L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum in your hands then work it through your hair. Start at the top and work your way down, adding more gum as needed. Like we said, this 'do doesn't require a slick finish so take care not to overload your strands. Don't apply gum to the very ends, leave the lower third of your hair natural.
Step three: Once you're happy with the amount of coverage, tie your hair back into a loose, low pony at the nape of your neck. Before you do so, make sure you shake your bangs loose at the front.
Step four: Take a piece of hair from the pony and wrap it around the base to camouflage the tie. Pin it underneath to hold it in place.
Step five: Finish with a mist of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Fine Control Hairspray for added hold and shine. That's it!
