Short, textured hairstyles are just perfect for a party, fact. This is especially true for short haircuts that are styled with unkempt curls and a slightly piecey texture. The resulting look has a cool, rebellious edge with a little bit of grunge thrown in for good measure. If you're planning a night on the town this weekend and you have short(ish) hair, you might just have found a great new party look!
A hairstyle like this is actually really easy to achieve, and takes hardly any time at all. Read on to find out how to get the look...
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle CURVE IT Elastic Curl Mousse
Blow-dryer & diffuser
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
Step one: Apply some Elastic Curl Mousse to damp hair. Use your fingers to scrunch it evenly through your hair and then blow-dry using a diffuser. This will add plenty of movement and body to your locks without weighing them down. The mousse will also help to define existing curls.
Step two: If you want some extra waves, take a medium-barrel curling iron and curl the lower half of your hair.
Step three: To get the pieceness à la the model opposite, apply a very small amount of Deconstructing gum to the lengths of your hair, taking care not to crush the curls. You don't have to apply it to all of your hair, just enough random sections to be visible.
Step four: Tousle and scrunch with your hands to finish.
For added volume, tease the bottom layers with a comb. Don't tease the hair too much, however, as you just want to get some more lift.
