Multi-tasking superwoman Eva Longoria not only has one of the busiest schedules in Hollywood, she also has one of the most inspiring manes! The L'Oréal Paris spokesperson never has so much as a strand out of place on the red carpet, wheeling out one gorgeous 'do after another. With such beautifully-coiffed credentials, she's a great source of summer hairstyle inspiration!
We've selected three of her best braid hairstyles, all of which are perfect for summer and all of them are totally achievable without a celebrity hair stylist, promise.
Wet look braid
Though more of a night out look, a wet look braid is always guaranteed to eliminate frizz and keep your hair totally under control. Tied high on top of her head, it brought plenty of drama to Eva's look at the AFI tribute to Jane Fonda but it would also look great with a fresh-faced beauty look.
To style: Brush all of your hair back from your face then work a small amount of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum evenly throughout. You don't need much, just enough to give you a subtle all-over sheen. Use a comb to gather all your hair into a high ponytail then secure with a hair tie. Braid the hair all the way to the ends, tie again and you're all set.
Voluminous French braid
If you want to inject some volume into your locks but keep them off your face, a voluminous French braid is the style you didn't know you needed.
To style: Brush your hair through then spray it with Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray, focusing on the roots on top. Massage the top and crown of your head with your fingertips then tease with a fine-tooth comb if you want more height. Loosely French braid your hair all the way to the ends then spray with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray to finish.
Tousled side braid
With a more bohemian feel, Eva's tousled side braid – as seen at the Cannes Film Festival – is another great summer look. As the former Desperate Housewife proved, it can be dressed up when necessary but it also looks great with overalls and a t-shirt.
To style: To recreate this braid, start by applying Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray evenly throughout your hair. Twist medium sections and blow-dry them then break up the twists with your fingers once they're dry. Part your hair on one side with a wide-tooth comb then back-comb the hair to boost volume. Gather everything on one side and braid the hair loosely all the way down to the ends using a fishtail technique. Secure with a hair tie then mist with Bold Control Hairspray to finish.
What do you think? Which braid will you try first?
