Eva Longoria is a total pro when it comes to red carpet beauty, something she proved once again at the NCLR ALMA Awards recently with a voluminous, retro-inspired ponytail. As one of the hosts for the evening, Eva later had approximately six hundred glamorous hairstyle and costume changes, but we just loved her first look of the night.
It's simple, chic and anybody with long hair (and/or extensions) can recreate it. To find out what you need to do, simply follow the step-by-step tutorial below.
Get the look
Starting with dry hair, brush it to detangle, then spray L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray evenly throughout.
Part your hair deep on one side, using the arch of your eyebrow as a guide, then section off a piece of hair at the front by smoothing it over to the other side and pinning it in place behind your ear.
Lift the hair on top of your head and at the crown, then tease it from behind to build volume. Take care not to rip back through your hair as this can cause damage; instead, just take your time. Once you have an inch or so of extra height, gently smooth it over.
Gather the hair from either side and secure it into a low ponytail.
Take a piece of loose hair and wrap it around the base of the pony, then pin it underneath to secure it. This will camouflage the tie and make your ponytail extra chic!
Re-spray your hair one last time to complete the look.
What do you think? Will you try Eva's pretty, retro ponytail on your own hair?
