Even though summer is drawing to a close (sob) there's no reason to stop rocking those ultra-pretty updos this fall, especially the ones that involve braids. In fact, they're kind of conducive to cold(er) weather chic because of all the room they leave for scarves!
To help keep your updo repertoire fresh, we have a brand new look for you, straight from New Zealand Fashion Week. This low chignon with French braid detail is surprisingly easy to achieve and it can be worn just about anywhere. Whether you need a cute new 'do for the gym, the office, a party, a wedding... this hairstyle has got you covered. To find out how to recreate the look, just follow the tutorial below.
Get the look
Step one
Brush your hair through then part it on whichever side you like best.
Step two
French braid a chunk on the side with the most hair. Starting at your part, braid along the hairline and down to the ends then secure with a small elastic.
Step three
Gather your hair back into a low pony, including the ends of the braid, and tie.
Step four
Spray the pony with L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray then back-comb to add texture and increase volume. Spray some more over the top of your head and use your fingers to gently loosen and muss the hair.
Step five
Wind the pony into a loose bun and pin. Spray your hair all over with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray to finish.
That's it! Braided updos really don't have to be complicated...
