As summer hairstyles go, a simple updo that keeps your hair off your neck and looks pretty at the same time is basically all you need. With a laid back, slightly windswept feel, this chignon is a great example of a 'do that does just that. The two micro braids create the illusion of a headband, too, adding some cute detail to an otherwise very straightforward hairstyle. If you want to try it on your own locks, all you have to do is follow the tutorial below...
Step one
Brush your hair through to eliminate any knots before you begin, then give yourself a middle part. Section off the front of your hair then smooth all the rest backward, leaving only the first few inches of the part visible.
Step two
Spray the hair at the crown of your head with Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray then tease with a fine-tooth comb. When you're happy with the amount of height, gently smooth the section over and pin at the back.
Step three
On either side of your part, take a small section of hair and braid it. When you reach the ends, pin them at the back of your head, too. Make sure you pull them tight against your head before you secure them in order to create a faux headband effect.
Step four
Loosely gather the rest of your hair into a low bun and secure it on top of the other pins. Spray your new style liberally with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray and you're all set!
