Crown braids and headand updos are kind of similar. A crown braid basically is a braided headband and a headband looks good with a braid, so it makes total sense if we compare both looks and then ask you to choose between them... kind of. Fortunately, they do have one thing in common: both styles are great options for a pretty summer beauty look.
The question is, which one would you wear?
Heidi braids are really just what grown-ups do with pigtails when they don't want anyone to know they're wearing their hair in pigtails. It's literally a case of braiding the hair in two equal halves then pinning the braids up over the top of the head. That way, they slyly metamorphose into an updo, not a concept most people under the age of twelve would be familiar with... unlike pigtails! Pretty clever, no?
On top of all that, this is a great style on a couple of different levels. It's playful yet mercifully practical - a lot of pins and a generous mist of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray are enough to ensure the hair doesn't move all day. It also provides a great showcase for your makeup.
Pretty as a princess
With a softer feel, a headband updo has a little more romance to it. There are no childish impulses to hide here, just a lot of elegant refinement to show off. That said, it's just as easy to achieve once you know how. Simply put your headband on then tuck the hair back over and underneath it at the back, pull it all in and downward in the middle. Braid the ends and fix with hairspray.
This could even be a hairstyle idea worth considering for your wedding day... or a Game of Thrones marathon. Or both.
So, which look do you like best?
