It has long been argued that an entirely symmetrical face is thing of beauty, but what about hair? The center part, it seems, looks pretty good as far as we can tell and it's something that both red carpet and runway stylists are embracing more and more right now.
As you can see in the gallery above, there are a whole host of different center part hairstyles to try, whether you want to wear you hair up or down, long or short. And hey, if Beyonce's doing it...
Divide and conquer!
There aren't many things that can change your whole look like moving your part around can. To the side, it helps to showcase the areas of your face it frames. Right in the middle, it showcases everything, really throwing your face into the limelight and drawing the eye to the very middle of your head.
Braver styles include ultra-sleek, straight loose styles, slick wet-look hair and smooth, tight updos.
All of that makes a center part sound pretty intense, and it can be, but if you want to soften the blow a little, simply use a tail comb to define your part about half an inch off-center. To a casual observer, it will still look like a center part without appearing quite as harsh!
Changing the texture of your hair can also make a center part work better for you. For example, if you think a straight hairstyle looks a bit severe with a center part, try adding some curls to help soften the look.
Top tip - Adding some loose waves is a great way to relax a center part hairstyle. Spray hair evenly with Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray, twist sections and blow-dry. Then, finger-comb, respray and scrunch to finish.
A mini-part - i.e. one that starts at your hairline and only goes back a couple of inches or only uses your bangs - is the perfect addition to a romantic style. Worn with a braided crown, retro style or relaxed chignon, it creates a sense of symmetry without overwhelming the look.
If you've be rocking a side part for a little while, maybe it's time to change things up a little!
