1. Pamper yourself
Treat yourself to a weekly pamper evening. Apply a hair mask after shampooing and leave in overnight or keep it on while you read a book in the bath. Who said multi-tasking was hard?
2. Refresh your head
After shampooing and conditioning, take a deep breath, then give your hair a quick rinse with cold water. It might not be too pleasant, especially in winter, but the cold temperature closes the hair fibers and gives your hair a glossy shine.
3. Tee-time
When you get out of the shower or bath, avoid rubbing your head vigorously with a towel, as this can cause breakage and frizz. Instead, squeeze gently and use a soft tee-shirt to soak up excess water. Likewise, never brush hair when wet. If you have to, use a wide-toothed comb to softly tease out tangles.
4. Shine-boosts
Serum or hair oil can be a quick and effective way to add instant shine. You only need a tiny drop, rubbed in the palm of your hands. Focus on the tips first, then glide your hands lightly over the top of your head and down the hair to avoid build-up and an oily finish.
5. Dry it right
When blow-drying, point the dryer down the shaft of the hair in order to avoid damage and dullness. A quick blast of cool air will give you even more shine.
