Ah spring, with little birds that sing and flowers blooming all around... it's a romantic time (preceded by Valentine's Day no less!) and as such, some might say it requires a romantic hairstyle to match. If you're feeling less than inspired about fresh new hairdos for this, the freshest and newest of all the seasons, you've come to the right place. We've chosen five pretty, romantic updos to try this spring.

FYI, they're all super easy to achieve chez vous!

Floral accessories

Flowers are going to feature heavily among this spring's top hairstyle trends and one of the easiest ways to rock the look is with a floral headband. Small flowers, big flowers, one flower... the choice is yours!

Top tip – Try using a floral headband for a rolled headband updo for a little practical romance. This kind of simple updo will keep your hair totally under control and can be done with medium or long hair.

More headbands

If flowers aren't really your thing, try a different kind of headband. Metallic jewelled headbands can really tie your whole look together and hide any signs of a bad hair day.

Top tip – Try wearing a metallic headband with a wavy hairstyle. Apply Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray and blow-dry separate twisted sections of hair. Finger-comb, respray and scrunch to finish.

Mini braids

Braids are eternal and eternally romantic. They're also perfect for creating all manner of intricate updos. However, if you don't have time for something complicated, braid a few small sections of hair to add some extra detail to your look.

Top tip – Contrast mini braids with a straight texture for a really interesting look. Run a flat iron through your hair after applying Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray and braid after that.

Windswept updos

Like flowers, loose windswept hairstyles are set to be a big spring hair trend this year. Seen on runways and red carpets alike recently, these volumized updos are a great way to wear a romantic, wispy hair texture. Tease a few strands loose and muss with your hands for a lightweight look.

Top tip – Volumize hair at the roots with Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray before pinning your hair up. This will add extra body and lift to your style.

Tousled braids

Braids are just the best when it comes to romantic hairstyles, especially a loose French style. Muss with your hands for an unkempt, messy look.

Top tip – Use bobby pins to secure any major flyways but don't be afraid to leave a few strands loose to frame your face.
