That's some mighty fine hair you've got there...

Deciding how to style fine hair depends on a lot of different things. Many people want something that will make their locks appear fuller and give them more movement whereas others may just want to whip their hair up into something that doesn't highlight how thin it is.

The good news is that there are many different options out there, including some very pretty looks that are surprisingly easy to recreate. Below are five of our favorite medium-length styles for fine hair with easy-to-follow tutorials to go with them.

All you have to do is scroll through and decide which look to start with!

Tousled updo

If it's an effortlessly chic hairstyle you want, a tousled updo might be a perfect fit. The texture helps to make thin hair appear fuller while creating a soft frame that flatters every face shape.

What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Hairspray
Hairdryer
Bobby pins
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray

Step one

Spray dry or damp hair with Tousle Waves Spray evenly throughout then grab a large chunk of hair and twist it. Hold onto the ends and blow-dry the twisted hair. Once dry, leave the section as it is (in a twisted clump) and repeat this process on the rest of your hair.

Step two

Break the twists up with your hands then gather your hair back into a loose messy bun and pin.

Step three

Spray your new style liberally with Bold Control Hairspray and you're all set!

Half-up headband

A sleek style with a headband won't make your hair appear thicker but it's a great excuse to experiment with accessories to detract from the thinness of your hair. This style will also keep the bulk of your locks off your face while retaining a lot of movement at the back.

What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray
Flat iron
Tail comb
Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Strand-Smoother Serum Spray
Headband

Step one

Spray your hair with Iron Straight Heatspray evenly throughout then flat iron.

Step two

Use a tail comb to give yourself a middle part then comb the hair through to fix it in place. You can also go slightly off-center if you prefer.

Step three

Spray all of your hair with Strand-Smoother Serum Spray for added shine and a cashmere-soft finish.

Step four

Put your chosen headband on!

Pretty pony

Curling your hair is the easiest way to make it look fuller and this is something that can make a world of difference with a ponytail. Curling just the ends will stop it from looking limp, giving your style extra bounce!

What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out HeatSpray
Hairdryer
Round brush
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Hair tie
Bobby pin

Step one

Spray your hair with Blow Out HeatSpray and rough dry until your locks are about 60% dry. When you get to this point, use a round brush to curl the ends of your hair in sections, spraying each one with Bold Control Hairspray before it cools.

Step two

Once dried, brush your hair through then gather it into a ponytail. Secure with a hair tie then camouflage the elastic with a small section of hair from the pony and pin underneath.

Step three

Wind the ends of the pony around your index finger to unify the curl.

Step four

Spray your whole style with Bold Control Hairspray and you're done!

Swept away

One of this season's biggest runway trends, windswept hair is great for adding volume to fine hair. With the right products and a good amount of teasing, the hair is lifted and can be styled into a half-up 'do or left to its own oversized devices.

What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray
Fine-tooth comb
Brush
Bobby pins

Step one

Spray your hair with High Lift Creation Spray, focusing mainly on the roots.

Step two

Brush your hair through then, leaving some hair loose at the very front, back-comb the top to build some extra height.

Step three

Gently smooth the top over with the section you left loose then gather the top half of your hair back and pin. Complete any last-minute adjustments with your hands and you're good to go!

Sleek headband updo

Like with a half-up headband style, a headband updo is a great way of putting your hair up without making it look thinner than it is.

What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Strand-Smoother Serum Spray
Bobby pins
Headband

Step one

Spray all of your hair with Strand-Smoother Serum Spray and part it on one side.

Step two

Gather your locks at the back and twist them into a small bun and pin.

Step three

Put your headband on!
