Hairstyling Hacks for a Perfect Hair Day

Having a good hair day, every single day, is something we all dream of, but find extremely difficult to achieve. The temptation to hit the snooze button and catch a few extra winks followed by a busy schedule that runs like clockwork and above all, the weather, which wreaks havoc on our locks, toss our dream of perfect hair day right out of the window.

You might not have a personal squad of professional hairstylists, but a few simple tricks can make magic happen in the hair department. We bring to you five hairstyle hacks that every woman should know. We bet that these tricks will change the way you see and feel about your hair forever:

1/ Use a toothbrush and hairspray to control frizz

While too little hairspray hardly makes any noticeable difference to your hair, too much of the product makes the strands stiff and look artificial. To control frizz and tame down pesky flyaways without turning your mane into a helmet, spritz an old toothbrush with some hairspray and run the brush over your hair to lend it a smooth and polished finish.

2/ Create a long, chunky ponytail

Make your medium-length to long hair appear longer by going for a two-tiered ponytail hairstyle. Instead of tying up all your hair in a single pony, pull the top half of your hair and secure it into a ponytail, and then gather the remaining half and tie another pony right below the first one. While the first pony will hide the second one, the latter will give the impression of a long, high ponytail!

(BTW, we have Ariana Grande to thank for this hairstyle!)

3/ Use dry shampoo

If your hair looks greasy or dirty and you don't have time to shampoo, blow dry and style your hair, just spritz some dry shampoo at the roots and brush your hair through to make your tresses look super clean and fresh. Make sure you choose a product that does not cause unwanted buildups or leaves behind a powdery residue.

4/ Flat iron your braids to create a curly/wavy texture

Bored of your straight hair? It's time to have some fun! Make multiple braids in your hair and flat iron each plait on a medium heat setting. Spritz some hairspray, uncoil the weaves and voilà – you have gorgeous textured hair! Medium-width braids make big curls while thinner plaits give way to a loose wavy texture. This trick is so doable, we bet you'd get hooked to it!

5/ Try the hair tuck trend

If you've left your long hair to air dry or can't seem to figure out how to style it, here's a hot hairstyle hack, right off the runway – try the hair tuck trend! No matter what the texture of your hair, just tuck in the ends inside your jacket, coat or turtleneck to give the appearance of a short faux bob! The trick is very simple and quite easy to pull off, especially if you don't have to shed those layers of clothing. Don't hesitate to give it a go; from supermodels to next door fashionistas – everyone is trying the trend right now. It'll look super chic and keep your neck warm too! Go #hairtuck
