When the weather warms up, it's easy to just pull your hair up into a ponytail and leave it there 'til fall unless you have a few simple alternative styles up your sleeve. Or hidden in your beach tote...
We've handpicked five casual summer hairstyles that are easy to style, so scroll through the gallery above and get inspired!
Loose waves
A classic summer style, loose waves are easygoing and look very pretty on just about anyone.
To style: Spray dry or damp hair evenly with Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray. Blow-dry the hair in large twisted sections then part with a wide-tooth comb. Re-spray and scrunch to finish.
Half-up waves
Another gorgeous summer look for similar reasons, a half-up wavy style is also perfect for warm weather.
To style: First you need to make some waves, either with Tousle Waves Spray as above or a medium curling iron. Then, take a section of hair from each side of your head and twist them inward, joining them at the back with a small hair tie. Fix with a mist of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray and you're good to go.
Tousled side braid
A tousled texture with a matte finish is a great way to give a side braid a beachy look, even if you haven't so much as looked at the sea!
To style: Blow-dry with Tousle Waves Spray then use a wide-tooth comb to sweep everything over to one side; if you want more volume, back-comb the lengths of the hair, too. Divide it into three uneven sections and loosely braid all the way down to the ends. Tie the ends then pull the braid out on either side to loosen it some more.
Tousled pony
Update your regular pony by giving it some tousled texture this summer. It'll still do all the practical things you want it to, like keeping your hair off your face and helping your neck to stay cool, it'll just look a little fresher.
To style: Again, dry with Tousle Waves Spray then tie the hair back into a pony. Take a section of hair from the tail and wrap it around the base of the pony to hide the hair tie. Use your fingertips to loosen the hair on top and fix with hairspray.
Ribbon braid
As you may have already guessed, this is basically a tousled braid with the addition of a ribbon...
To style: Do exactly the same as with the tousled braid, only tie a ribbon into the hair just behind your ear before you start braiding. Treat it like part of your hair and braid it with everything else.
