Now that Valentine's Day is behind us, it's only a matter of time before spring descends, bringing with it fresh new looks, sunshine and the possibility of taking a walk in footwear that isn't strictly water/snowproof. All of that makes now the perfect time to start thinking about new spring 2014 hair trends while we sit back and wait for the weather to catch up!
As has been the case for several consecutive seasons now, wet-look hair remains a huge hair trend... for those that are brave enough to rock the look in a non-runway, real-life situation. Fear not, for some of the other fresh spring looks out there all you really have to do is roll out of bed if you're lucky!
In the gallery above, you'll find three simple yet very effect hair trends, as seen at the Spring-Summer 2014 shows. The one thing they all have in common is just how wearable they are for an everyday look, whatever your day might entail!
Relaxed waves at Blugirl
Spring 2014 is going to be all about wistful, wispy styles, with a lot of flowing waves and tousled tresses. At the Blugirl Spring 2014 show, models were sent down the runway sporting long wavy locks. With a simple blow-dry, this style is actually really easy to achieve.
Get the look: After towel-drying hair, apply Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out Heatspray evenly, using a wide-tooth comb to ensure even coverage. Blow-dry with a large-barrel brush and then use a large curling iron to create big, relaxed waves. Finger-comb and fix with a strong hold hairspray.
Low ponies at Gianfranco Ferre
Another gorgeous, relaxed style for spring has to be a low pony, as seen on the runway at Gianfranco Ferre. This is a style which can be dressed up or down, depending on where you're planning to wear it. It also looks especially chic with a simple, straight texture that is neither too polished nor too unkempt.
Get the look: Blow-dry using Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Frizz Vanisher Cream, and then brush hair through. Define a rough center part with your hands and gather the lengths of your hair into a low pony. Secure at the nape of your neck with a hair elastic and fix with hairspray to finish. For a super chic look, take a small section of hair from the pony and wrap it around the hair elastic, before securing underneath with a bobby pin.
Disheveled updos at Michael Kors
Continuing the artfully mussed theme, the Michael Kors show was jam-packed with messy-chic updos. As a quick fix, this kind of style works especially well with a high pony.
Get the look: Apply a generous amount of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray through dry or damp hair. Take a section of hair and twist it, then blow-dry. Repeat on the rest of your hair and then finger-comb to reveal loose, tousled waves. Re-spray and scrunch hair before gathering into a high pony. Don't secure it too tightly and tease random strands of hair loose for a super romantic look. Fix with hairspray and you're done!
