There's no time like a new season to get a brand new haircut, or to update the one you already have. This fall, there are a few notable trends for men, including and especially the ones mentioned below. The question is, which one will you try?
Go long

Long hair has taken the world of male grooming by storm of late and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. This is great news for the colder months as longer hair basically equates to an added layer of neck insulation. Bring it, Old Man Winter.
How to get the look
Growing out your hair takes time, especially if you don't have a lot of length to begin with. The key to doing it well is getting regular trims to keep your mane in check while it grows, thus preventing any awkward in-between silhouettes.
Grow out your fade

Faded styles and undercuts reigned supreme for much of the 2010s but now they're calming down and evolving into something less closely cropped. This doesn't necessarily mean growing out buzzed hair entirely, merely adding just enough length to play with when creating slicked, parted or textured styles.
How to get the look
To make a slightly longer faded cut work, keep the edges neat to prevent the style from appearing unkempt.
Make waves

Whether you want to keep the carefree spirit of summer alive for as long as possible, or would like your hair to look a bit fuller, try adding some waves. It's a great way to lift the hair at the root and add volume throughout. Just be aware that it's a difficult look to master if your hair is naturally poker straight.
How to get the look
Blow-drying your hair with the diffuser attachment will bring out any natural waves you have, then you can enhance them with some matte putty once the hair is totally dry.
