While the temptation to swap long hair for a more manageable short cut remains, there are a few great reasons to keep going, and keep growing. One such reason is how ridiculously good a long, full mane can look with the right bangs.

Look at Lea Michele, look at Zooey Deschenel! These ladies know exactly what we're talking about. They both have very cute, soft styles that frame their faces and show off a whole lot of gorgeously low-key texture. In short, they look really pretty all the time and a large part of that is down to their hair.

Another thing to bear in mind is that getting bangs is a great way to change up your whole look without sacrificing of several precious inches to do so. From micro bangs to a side-swept fringe, once you've figured out what kind are right for you, there's nothing stopping you!

If you're still not convinced by the amazing awesomeness of long styles with bangs, we have a list of ten great looks below that might just persuade you otherwise. So, scroll through and get inspired!

Long & side-swept

This redheaded Rapunzel is a great ambassador for long, flowing hair and side-swept bangs. There's nothing severe about this style but nothing that seems too underdone either. This 'do strikes a perfect balance and can be worn in a whole bunch of different ways. What's not to like?

Eva Longoria's sleek look

If you want a polished hairstyle, look no further than Eva Longoria. No muss, no fuss (no flyways), this style is simple yet very effective and, as you can see, easy to dress up for a fancy occasion.

Big waves

Essentially just a shorter version of Lea Michele's style, this look has tumbling curls that can be easily replicated with a curling iron. It's a style that works really well with casual attire but can also be dressed up for a night on the town.

Hollywood waves

Glamorous gals, this is the style for you. Harking back to Hollywood's golden age, cascading side-swept waves are an indisputable hairstyle classic. Along with bobs, braids and pixies, this look will never not be on-trend.

Top tip - Fix your waves with a generous mist of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray for up to 24 hours of great hold.

That 70s look

Another vintage side-sweep, this seventies-inspired look can be used to flatter your favorite features and draw attention to the parts of your face you want to show off the most. To get the look, all you need to do is part your hair on one side then curl the bang outward with a medium-sized curling iron.

Peekaboo chic

If you aren't put off by the idea of regular trims (or an obstructed line of vision), this lengthy fringe could be perfect for you. It has a very soft finish and draws a lot of attention to the eye and cheekbone area. Not only that, it's also a great excuse to try out a bold lip color!

Low shine

Though wet look hair hasn't seriously taken off outside of the fashion and celebrity communities, it is one of those styles that can be a lot of fun to wear every now and then. Perfect for a night out, this ultra sleek, almost slick look is ideal for anyone who may be growing out their bangs and wants to keep them out of the way.

Top tip - Get a low-shine finish by applying a small amount of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum to damp hair.

Undone

If French girl hair is the stuff your hair-related dreams are made of, a subtly undone style is probably right up your street. Seemingly effortless, this style comes off as carefree and super chic.

Barely there waves

For those of you who are more into air drying than blow drying their hair, this style with it's unpolished finish could be just what you're looking for. It's textured but doesn't look too deliberate, making it another perfect fit for this season's natural looking tousled trend.

What do you think? Which long hairstyle with bangs is your favorite?
